Nelson was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 21, 1987 to John and Jenny Nelson. Nelson attended West Allis High School in West Allis, Wisconsin. Nelson also played college baseball at Bowling Green State, and was drafted in the 1st round, 28th overall in 2008 by the San Antonio Bulls. Nelson and Toledo Sharks reliever [[Sean Bachmann]] were both born in Milwaukee.

Brian Robert Nelson (born February 21, 1987) is an American professional baseball first baseman currently playing for the El Paso Longhorns of the United States Baseball League (USBL). He has previously played for the San Antonio Bulls. He stands at 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds. He bats and throws left-handed.
