Alejandro Juan "Alex" Medina Gomez (born February 17, 1994) is a Venezuelan professional baseball shortstop and third baseman currently playing for the Toledo Sharks of the United States Baseball League (USBL). He stands at 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 205 pounds. He bats and throws right-handed.

Life and career[]

Along with Jesús Carrillo, Rafael Villamizar, Carlos Ramirez Jr. and others, Medina is considered to be one of the best young stars in the league. His high batting ratings combined with his great speed and defensive ability make him one of the best shortstops in the USBL. Medina was a Season 12 All-Star, and led the Western Conference in stolen bases during his rookie year, with 25.

Medina has a brother, Rafael, who plays for the Fort Wayne Blue Bombers, the Triple-A affiliate of Toledo.
